Welcome!

The Georges-Leblanc Challenges are a Marina de Rimouski activity initiated by the well-known Quebec ocean racer Georges Leblanc. All monohull sailboat owners are offered three open-style against-the-clock non-stop courses:

• Cap-à-l'Aigle/Rimouski

• Rimouski/Forestville/Rimouski

• Rimouski/Anticosti/Rimouski.

Challenges can take place at any time over an 18 week period from June 1st to September 30th.

The Georges-Leblanc Challenges is organised in collaboration with the Port de Refuge de Cap-à-l'Aigle.

Objectives are:

To develop an offshore racing culture and interest in Quebec
To promote seamanship competencies and safe coastal & offshore navigation
To promote the beauties of the St. Lawrence River & Gulf

On any selected course, crews can choose their own time of departure as a function of weather conditions, currents & tides in order to establish a record within their class, according to established rules and prescribed itineraries.

Safety must be paramount to the skippers during these challenges in order to fully appreciate the pleasure of such a sailing experience.

What really matters is participating and enjoying great sailing.
